Part 1 - not being married by 26, crazy, right?

April 30, 2020

Firstly, since this is the first article/ expression of opinion I share with you in this segment, I felt it is only right to explain how I thought about organizing it. As if my mind is somehow organised. Anyway, the point is, these are little fragments from things we all encounter in our lives. I am not pretending I know it all, I don't want to advice you on anything, but consider it as a book, my experience will become yours.

So expect random topics that I really hope you will recognized because it also happened to you. Remember it is not about spreading hate or frustration, but how I cope with different situations.

Part 1 - not being married by 26, crazy, right?

The desire to rant about this surfaced after I caught a conversation between my coworkers. One of them had a daughter my age who was married and had her first child. Cheers to that, sister. Then the sweet words followed. They insinuated that if you're not married by this age, all the good guys are taken and all you'll be left are, well, leftovers.

The talk was getting kind of depression when a thought popped up in my mind. I WAS NEARLY FEELING GUILTY FOR BEING HAPPY. Happily not married, happily being single, happily not wanting kids for now, happily being me and doing what I want.

I won't lie, it is hard to swallow it at first, especially because in times like this I feel my quick temper unleashing. Luckily, my brain is quick to think about what applies to me and what not. It is okay to not be like others, in any field you imagine. Maybe you heard these words before, repeat them until you believe them. Then you'll see how different and little these things affect you.

Truth is everyone has their own pace, I feel that if you rush something you may ruin it. But I also don't believe in lost trains because, honey, I own the station, if I don't want to, then a train can't come in. And you also have to think about how many trains are you able to take in before you crash something. Who said that being your own life's boss is easy?

If you were in a situations like this or even disagree, I want to hear your opinion anyway.
Lots of love,
A.

  2. I totally agree with you. Everyone has their on happiness. I also don't like when other people tell me what should I do. Keep going and don't let other thoughts ruin your mood. 👊

  3. Congratulations for your new segment and for taking the awesome decision of giving a more personal touch to your blog. Older generations will always tend to give their unadvised opinion, never ever let that stop you from being who YOU really are. Hugs from far far away.
